Attention Junior Girls!!
If you enjoy southern traditions and would like to compete for a scholarship of $2,000 to attend your school of choice (including dual enrollment), the Azalea-Dogwood Queen Contest is for you.
It is a fun process. Everyone involved will be a Trail Belle in the parade. The first part of the contest will be interviews on Saturday, March 6. The next Saturday, will be the stage portion and will end with the announcement of the 2021 queen. Both activities will be held safely at the Dothan Opera House.
A long dress with a full skirt is what you will need for the stage. A hoop is optional. For the interview, a dress or suit will be the attire for an enjoyable interview. No controversial questions will be asked. It will be about you!
Registration is $50 and includes a parasol for you to decorate, a photo session with a professional photographer in Dothan, and a day pass to Water World.
The deadline to confirm your participation is Wednesday, February 17 at 5:00. Simply send an email to azaleadogwoodfestival@gmail.com to receive an entry form that must be emailed by Saturday, February 20 at midnight.
The plan for the 2021 queen is for a fun-filled year of meeting new people and making guest appearances while serving as a role model for young girls. Besides being the official hostess of the 2021 Trail Parade on March 21, she will also be on a float in the National Peanut Festival.
In addition to the $2,000 scholarship, the prize package includes a beautiful crown and banner, along with pearl jewelry, and various gifts.
This is an opportunity for a girl to be recognized for her poise, intelligence, and wit. This contest is known for selecting winners based on natural beauty. Plus, it can lead to other rewarding experiences, and remember, all contestants will ride in the parade atop a beautiful Corvette!
