Project Project Description:
This project will consist of repurposing softball/baseball fields located behind the Wiregrass Recreation

sports. The project will include regrading and reconfiguring the existing fields, upgrading the existing
parking infrastructure including adding connectivity to the upper and lower parking lots, new parking
spots will be added in addition to new hhandicap-accessibleparking, new storm drainage, sidewalks, new
field and parking lot lighting, upgrades to the existing concrete bleachers, and a new maintenance barn

Wiregrass Fields project is a collaboration between the City of Dothan, Visit Dothan, and Izell Reese,
Director of NFL Flag.
This project is funded by the City of Dothan. In addition to providing much-needed playing space for
recreation teams and leagues, these fields will provide the Dothan Leisure Services department with another
venue to attract local and regional multi-sport tournaments.
Work began on this project in August 2022. The project completion date is projected to be June 2023.
Wiregrass Park Recreation Center will celebrate its 40th Birthday on June 19, 2023, and it is hopeful we
