[ARCHIVED] Dothan Utilities Report Following Recent Storm

Thunderstorms hit the Dothan area at approximately 7:30pm on Friday June 17, 2016. Fallen trees and limbs knocked down power lines and caused power outages in multiple areas of Dothan. In an effort to quickly restore power to our customers, Dothan Utilities brought in additional trouble crews. We had four bucket trucks (2 linemen per truck), tree trimming bucket (with 2 tree trimmers), a substation lineman and a lineman supervisor. We also opened our dispatch center from approximately 9:00pm to 2:00am.

Approximately 2,500 DU electric customers were affected by the storm. All customer’s electric service was restored by 2:30am Saturday morning. Dothan Utilities would like to thank all of those who assisted with restoration efforts on a Friday evening through the early morning hours. As always, we would also like to thank our customers for their patience and for allowing us the opportunity to serve you!
