Mayor Mike Schmitz obviously made quite an impression during the span of his historical 8 days, 7 cities, 25,000 mile visit to China this past May! Nanjing Zijin-Lead, a leading manufacturer of 3D printers and host to Mayor Mike and the SoZo Group during their China visit, is now scheduled to present a free seminar on 3D printing to the citizens of Dothan and the surrounding area. The company will also make an impressive technological donation to two local schools!
The “Rethink Manufacturing with 3D Printing” seminar, sponsored by the SoZo Group, will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 from 2:00pm – 5:00pm at the Wallace College Campus in Cherry Hall’s Bencze Auditorium. During the seminar, Nanjing Zijin-Lead will present a 3D printer and showcase some of the machine’s impressive capabilities. The company has also graciously agreed to donate two 3D printers to the community. The printers will be placed at the Dothan Technology Center and Wallace College to further enhance the education of our local students by providing them access to the technology of the future.
“This is a wonderful educational opportunity for Dothan and the surrounding area,” said Mayor Schmitz. “Our citizens, students, and local businesses will now have the opportunity to be at the forefront of this new technology. Hopefully, this briefing will inspire current business owners, creative entrepreneurs, and technology oriented students to think of ways to use this technology to further their business and professional goals.”
As part of the seminar, Graham Tromans will provide a briefing on the status of 3D printing’s commercialization and new innovations. Tromans is one of the world’s leading experts on the technology and Britain’s leading consultant in 3D printer manufacturing.
The Economist Magazine has called the advent of 3D technology as significant as the birth of “factories” in the manufacturing world. Come see why leading business experts believe the potential of 3D printing in advanced manufacturing may create an American manufacturing renaissance.
The “Rethink Manufacturing with 3D Printing” seminar is free to the public and no registration is required. For more information, please call (334) 615-3111.
