Dothan to Host Informational Meeting Regarding
Proposed FOG (Fats, Oils, and Grease) Ordinance
On Tuesday, October 27, 2015, Dothan’s Department of Planning and Development will conduct an informational meeting where staff representatives will present the proposed FOG (Fats, Oils, and Grease) Ordinance to members of the Dothan City Commission. The public is invited to attend this meeting, which will be held at 10:00am in the Board Room located on the second floor of the Dothan Civic Center.
The FOG Ordinance was developed as part of the EPA’s Administrative Order on Consent, which requires the City of Dothan to develop a program to control the introduction of fats, oils, and grease (FOG) into the wastewater collection system. FOG is a serious problem and it is the reason for many of the sanitary sewer blockages and overflows that the City has experienced. The proposed FOG Ordinance is expected to be a major part of addressing this problem.
For questions regarding the informational meeting or the proposed FOG Ordinance, please call the Department of Planning & Development at (334) 615-4410.
