[ARCHIVED] 53rd Annnual Azalea Dogwood Pageant Registration Update

Just a friendly reminder that registration for the 53rd annual Azalea Dogwood Pageant is underway. Registration has been extended until February 17. Please get registered as soon as possible. Winner of the Queen division will receive a $2,000 scholarship. First and Second runners-up will receive $500 each.

This pageant (scheduled for Saturday, March 4th at the Dothan Opera House) is sponsored by Dothan Leisure Services and the National Peanut Festival.

The pageant is open to girls in grades 6-12 that reside in Houston County and go to any school in Dothan or Houston County.  The divisions are: Maid of Honor 6th & 7th grades, Princess 8th, 9th & 10th grades, and Queen 11th & 12th grades.  The girls must maintain a “C” or above scholastic average.  Judging will be based on poise and appearance.

Registration forms may be picked up at all schools, recreation centers, National Peanut Festival office, Dothan Leisure Services’ central office at the Civic Center – Room 107, or you may download a copy at www.dothanleisureservices.org. The entry fee is $15.00.

The newly selected Azalea Dogwood Queen and her Court will reign over all the festivities surrounding the Azalea Dogwood Festival.  For more information call Dothan Leisure Services at 615-3700.
